@fowlfables If you read closely, I used the term "supportive father". Obviously this doesn't apply to fathers that are abusive.

@0TheBestMan For the number of homes where one of the parents abusing the other, I will disagree with you. My father came from an abusive home. He let his some of his past follow him when he became a father. I can honestly say I envy those without a father over those that have one like mine or my father's before him.

Two parents guarantee nothing. Financial security alone does not make an advantage.

@GenerationXeroFilms I agree with all of this except for the notion that single parent households are not at a disadvantage. Maybe you overcame your situation, but I think its pretty obvious that it's always ideal for a supportive father to stick around.
