  • The song is generally known as Utru horas (some other times), but is really "Lua ka ta kema" (The moon does not burn), originally composed by the fabulous José Carlos Schwarz, from Guinea-Bissau in 1972. He was lead singer/composer of Cobiana Djazz. "Zé Carlos" died in 1977.

Orch. Baobab is truly a great band, but I hope you will look up Cobiana Djazz, as well. That will only make you richer.

  • Absolutely enthralling. The voices and instruments mesh in a fascinating way. It is hard to say which is answering or challenging which. This is jazz at its best, come full circle around the globe, with tales to tell of where it has been, and shiney artifacts from the cultures it met on the way.

  • Gracia Orchestra Baobab !

  • @fizihkull Sorry Most of the song is in Creole portuguese from southern Senegal. Of cours a few part of the song (just one sentence) is in Wolof in fact. I speak the both languages. Enjoy

  • @souil2001 I thought the language is Wolof?

  • 3 peopel missed the point!

  • @carolpaladina You are right, this language derived from Portuguese. It is called Creole Portuguese spoken in most of the African parts that had been colonized by Portuguese: Southern Senegal (where the singer is originated from); there is also Creole Portuguese in Bissau Guinea. Here is for you information and enjoy this beautiful tune.
