Lepus the Hare is an oft-overlooked constellation, but it contains an object easily seen in most small telescopes - a globular cluster that "shouldn't be there." Find why it IS there, and how you can find it, easily - and what other two objects are associated with it. The Quadrantid meteor shower occurs later this week, though the timing of it is not ideal for North American and Western European observers. Also, where and when to find Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and when the last quarter Moon occurs. See what's up in the night sky every week with "Eyes on the Sky" videos, astronomy made easy.

For where you are, Lepus will be higher in the southern sky - in fact, probably much closer to overhead. You'll just need to adjust everything "up" in the sky towards the north about 30-35 degrees or so.

Same, I only just managed to see those as well, thin cloud cover. It was nice to try out the telescope I bought my brother, but I think that will be it for the next few weeks.
