Yes! vickytaff1 on my channel - how cool is that! This video shows Bristley Ridge Ascent from Bwlch Tryfan. The walk we actually did started and ended at Idwal Cottage. We did Bristley Ridge, quite challenging in places, made it up to Glyder Fach, on to Glyder Fawr and finally Y Garn. This would make a great day out. The rock formations on the top are fantastic, especially 'Castle of the Winds'.

Bristley Ridge. Don't be taken in by the sedate video. I wasn't going to get my video camera out during difficult sections! This is a grade 1/2 scramble and should not be attempted unless you are competent and not afraid of heights. I would not advise going alone because the chance of falling into one of the many gullies should be taken seriously, exposure would get to you before any rescue team.

GPS data of the walk is available here http://connect.garmin.com/activity/122432108

  • Wow absolutely beautiful landscape. Reminds me of some parts of middle earth.

  • @weefek Thanks for that!

  • @alanstarkie2001 No problem! Any information on that stone wall / fence? Looks interesting and very old.

  • @weefek I'm not sure about that particular wall but it's probably hundreds of years old. I did see one that had a big overhang in the Lake District - I know that was to protect against wolves, and there hasn't been any of those in this country since about 1490!

  • What a wonderful tribute to a fabulous day :-) very impressed. You must tell me how you manage the freeze-frame effect (very effective). beautiful music, excellent mood setter. isn't it funny how you can get 2 completely different sucessful videos from practically the same footage. lots of people loving the pic of the castle of winds, you have a very good camera. Thankyou for joining me, i had a lovely day and part of the 3000s off the check list too.. next...

  • @vickytaff1 Cheers Vicky! This upload was done a bit on the quick side on account of not getting enough sleep. I'm just working on the tweaked colorized version that I'll upload as full HD - time permitting! I was thinking the same btw - two different takes on the same thing. Glad I re-edited it though, this one is about right! I think next, work out the route off Y Garn along that ridge? I'll learn some Welsh too!

  • @Toppervision1 Thanks Mike. I'll contact you soon, sorry I haven't been in touch lately!

  • Look at that, someone's built a wall up a hill again. Must have been a good trick. Good to see you still enjoy a good hike. She never stops smiling, good company.
