GOD's Mercy Russia 2008 - Russian Orphans Part 4

Here is my picture slide show highlighting my most recent trip to St. Petersburg Russia. I visited the missionaries who work for Buckner Orphan Care International and the orphans who live in orphanage #2, #14, #15, #60 and Lapoohinka Orphanage in the Leningrad region (75 miles outside St. Petersburg). The slide show emphasizes the kids growing up from 2006-2008 and documents the sad fact that most of these kids will never get adopted. It also features the missionaries and our trips to McDonald's. You are missing the point, I am not an adoption agency, I work in Real Estate and do mission work on the side to help my friends in Russia and share the love of Jesus with the kids. I pay for the trips myself and raise money for the missionaries. Why are you so angry?? What you're saying may be true but it has nothing to do with Russian mission work.

90% of the Russian "orphans" have either a mother or father or both, who are still alive. They are social orphans, they have been placed in the orphanage because their parents could not care for them, either because of AIDS, drugs/alcohol, or they didn't want them. Some of them could not afford to keep them and come to visit them on weekends, this is very sad.

I think you are misunderstanding, no one is adopting, I am not an adoption agency. I went to Russia to show the children love and teach them about Jesus. In 80% of the people I know who have adopted children from Russia, the parents adopting have biological children of their own, they want to give these kids a better future in a family that loves them, and yes I am Christian. Why are you telling another Christian to drop dead???

I recently got back from Russia, with Buckner and Ishi. We visited #14 and #40 and I ache for the children that we have come to love. It is a life changing event. Wish we had a video like this of our kids. I miss them so very much it hurts. I will love them always.
