Hurdy Gurdy - Nicholas Lowe
Never Love The More - A tune from Scotland that I borrowed The Broadside Band. its on a CD called "John Playford's Popular Tunes" by The Broadside Band. Amon Ra, 1987. The notes say that it appeared in the 7th (1686) edition of "The Dancing Master". It's very well suited to Hurdy Gurdy and is probably great played on the pipes too. There is a maritime rhythm to it that to play feels like the roll of a boat on the sea.
The Hurdy Gurdy is made by Neil Brook from Preston UK.
Nice sound, but then it was made by Neil Brook (as was mine). Shame we couldn't see more of it.
See you (and it) at the Hurdy-Gurdy Festival in Lancaster in April?
