  • Hello! I make sculptures out of melted crayons. Im trying to find a glossy finnish coat that will work with this material. Iv been told you guys use an acrylic glaze. Is there a specific type or will any brand work? The only one I could find is made by Golden and i beleive is intended of painting. Thanks for any help! :D

  • can i somehow use paraffin oil to make the candles?

  • If your glass container candles are pulling away from the inside of the glass it's most likely you are using too much stearin or the candle is cooling too quickly, there can be lots of reasons but my guess would be one of those two. Stearin is a hardner and adds opacity to the base wax so try a bit less stearin and see if it improves.

  • If you want to know how many votives you can get from a pound of beeswax, fill your votive with water to the level you want then measure that amt of water and the it's easy to figure how many votives you can get with a lb of beeswax.

  • Yaley makes what I think are the best solid scents, as far as liquid scents I have found them to all be very similiar, you have to be a bit more careful with liquid scents regarding amt of scent to wax as they can cause the wax to separate and give an oily appearance to the candle or candle won't burn properly. Also, that aluminum pot he showed is a pouring pot not a melting pot, you need a double boiler for melting wax.

  • This guy owns a candle making company??? Yikes...he just gave so much wrong info and left out alot of important things too..oh well if you are new to candle making do your research.

  • My candle won't stick inside the glass after it turns solid.

I'm using Stearic acid (or stearin).

Any idea how to make it stick inside the glass?

  • SWEEEET. thanks bro

  • How many votives can I make with i lb of beeswax? Do you know where I can find information about using raw beeswax instead of the sheets such as melting temperatures? Do beeswax candles take to dyes or do people usualy not color them?Sorry for so many questions......thanks.

  • I have been searching for the best quality candle scent providers.

    Any recommendations will be helpful.

    Thanks for the post!
