  • @MagicMalky i don't think that's being sexist. it's true that there simply are not as many female comedians out there, and therefore not as many GOOD or philosophical female comedians. there are a lot of hilarious female actors/writers (lucille ball, tina fey, etc.) though again, not as many. that's not your problem for not finding them, that's the lack of funny females in show business. hopefully the few around now will spur many more to come in the future.

  • 1:59 that series of facial expressions is so perfectly brilliant

  • besides garafalo GREATEST FEMALE COMEDIAN EVER!!!!

  • i'm not sexist. i just truly can't find a female that does philosophical comedy. i love women so much that i have spent hours digging through all the kind of crap comedy i hate, trying to find one that isn't like the rest. i know there are a lot of guys that just do penis jokes and they suck balls just as hard. i'm talking about the type of comedy that people like george carlin, bill hicks and doug stanhope do. anybody reading this if you could please lead me in the right direction

  • @PonDeWorld for the record i don't think she was doing a parody of people that do this, she was attacking people that allegedly "expect" female comics to be like this. i didn't miss the point i think you might have

  • @PonDeWorld again and again. instead of arguing here pointlessly how about you send me a link of someone else to prove me wrong and to entertain me

  • @MagicMalky That's what this was, if you were paying attention instead of missing the joke entirely. Good job.

  • @Veganresponse It is philosophy comedy, in the sense that it's a social commentary. Almost all of her standup is, it's just done in a new, quirky format that's actually funny, and doesn't feel like it's being rammed down your throat a la Carlos Mencia or Chris Rock.

  • @Veganresponse

    shove, psycho sexist militant

  • So much better than any BOY comedian I've ever heard! Wow...and so much smarter too. I'm glad she didn't muck up her act with dusty old bits about her "philosophy." Maria is the new wave of comedy. If you know of any boy comedians who do character work and are as inventive to spawn an entirely new form of comedy, please let me know! Thanks!
