@mrho4speed Twenty one rebounds IS insane. There are only a few players in the league today who are a threat to go get that every night. Off the top of my head I can only think of Kevin Love and Dwight Howard.

@bootiack what about MJ then. And also the pistons won in 89 and 90 based on their defense so it must have taken some time for people to learn it, is MJ somewhat of a fraud? I agree though that the NBA is gay now and it sucks because it could be sooo cool. like this. hard and tuff

Bird was like a snapping turtle. They are very slow animals but they have the ability to be lightning quick when they need to be.

novitzki had nowhere near th eskills of bird in terms of variet fo moves, going to the hoop, head fakes, and passing combined with best shooting from any area ever maybe except for pistol -- unstoppable and made team mates better -- as well as helping team by getting ball outa hands of guards who shoot low % and keeping forwards n center taking most of shots which are higher %

Great video showing how physical the game used to be. Bird here is fearless and tough, before injuries and playing with reckless abandon. Twenty one rebounds is insane!! Bird shows his great skills, ambidexterity and passion to win.
