In April, 2009 Vitas participated in the shooting of film "Mulan" as a guest star. The shooting took place in China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The heroine, Mulan, is an ancient household name in China. She was a young woman who disguised herself as a man in order to take her ailing father's place in the army and went into battle around 1,500 years ago. Mulan came to life in Disney's animated series during the late 90s. This time director Jingle Ma Cho Shing presents a live-action Mulan portrayed by famous Chinese actress Zhao Wei. What kind of role Vitas plays in the film is still a secret. Unnamed sources revealed he plays a singer who is later captured. His addition to the cast may turn out to be one of the film's highlights. Vitas also recorded a soundtrack to this film.

Vitas as a singer and songwriter has been known on Russian stage since 2000 and released here 9 CDs. He has filmed 12 music videos and presented 4 concert shows. Possessing a unique vocal range of 5 octaves, Vitas is capable to perform brilliantly vocal pieces of different music genres.
