This is a video of Windows Vista, stripped to extremes with vLite, running on VMWare Fusion with 48MB memory allowed to the machine. It's slow, but functional. Limiting due to lack of Internet and .NET frameworks, but old applications for Windows 98 and Windows 2000 should work.

This is proof of concept, not meant for deployment or any practical use, just proof it can run on limited hardware.

For anyone who wants to know, I installed it with 512MB allowed to the system, then shut it down and kept lowering the memory until it refused to boot (anything under 48MB caused lockup or BSOD.)

  • I bet that you can't spell the word "document"...

16gb is a waste of money... the newest games use only 3-4gb or less RAM...

When you upload a video with specs of your pc validated with cpu-z, than i will believe that you we're dumb enought to spend your money on a pc with 16gb ram

  • How nice, now emulate Windows 7. If not, Microsoft will quickly destroy your Mac...

  • I rly hate vista

  • xD

more comfortable in my computer, trying to

  • @MrEmJayVee I agree but you have to keep in mind his comment is a year old and was valid back then. Back then you didn't need 16GB for all of that stuff. I have a laptop that has 4GBs of RAM, I will be upgrading to 8GBs pretty soon! :)

  • @shigalbigal

16 GB of Memory is not a waste much?

Its very useful when you use it for editing videos with like Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere CS5.

And now the newest games like Crysis 2 needs like more than 4 gbs of RAM if its on like all high settings with a nice graphic card.

  • @thekyriakos Most programs aren't programmed to use all of that memory, so unless you plan on multitasking programs that make good use of that memory, your father has wasted quite a bit of money.

  • @jjovereats LOL, Wrong!

  • @Sinxseal You only need 1GiB to game.

  • @NamelessNLS You are OBVIOUSLY talking about the current revision (revived version) because that oldie c64c is not enough to run Linux (oh wait an 8bit port came out soz)
