It sickens me how many times Scorsese has been screwed at the Oscars..."politics" of it aside...he's should've won his first one a long damn time ago...among all of his other films, all greats...but I was floored when he didn't win for Gangs of New York

Stonedcommander you should read Missionary Position if you want to learn about other criticisms of Mother Teresa. You said you only know of one criticism of her but that's not all there is.

Ahh - Jesus did liken God to a King who would kill those who did not serve him (Luke 19:27), he told you to sell everything you own (Mark 19:17-21, Luke 18:22, Luke 12:33, Luke 9:23, Luke 12:33), hate your family (Luke 14:26), he came not to bring peace but the sword, and he trashed a church because they were collecting money. It's not all roses.

This is true. She most likely was an agnostic but she made her feelings towards the god she loved and the world she lived in in her diary before she died.

well, on the jesus was good subject. all i will say is we have not been given anything to judge him by. how much of the bible is actually about jesus.

its only 1 book. i dont think it is fair to say that you can describe an entire persons life with just one book. even if you only lived 30 years or so.

im only 26, and i know i cant even fit this year in to one book. much less all 26 years.

I almost agree with you guys. I definitely respect your rights, no question and would expect the same in return. I wouldn't expect you to respect my beliefs though. I think that kind of respect needs to be earned. If you just respect any old thing I believe then your respect isn't exactly worth much. I don't respect the belief that Voodoo works because it's ridiculous. I would respect that person's right to that belief though.

A-hole that I am, there is no one that is truly above question for me but I certainly have heroes.

Eastwood is a genius who has been successful at most of the things he's put his hand to. His personal love life is of zero interest to me.

I have questions about Teresa but they aren't motivated by the abortion issue. The questions I have about Teresa are at least related to the questions she had about herself. She had very deep questions about herself and the results of her work. So do I.
