  • A very nice layout and a formidable roundhouse at the end. Thumbs up! :)

    Greetings from Germany

  • @BlakeMason2 That is a "Ridgway Spark Arrestor", devised at the Ridgway Shops of the Colorado & Southern RR in, well, Ridgway, Colorado, back in the late 1800's

It catches and collects the cinders before they can wander off and start a fire. The angled portion is a wire mesh, and the tube coming down the back side of the stack is where the captured cinders collect .

  • super cool i wish i had it

  • brilliant!!

  • are the BTU's preduced by the fire hot enough to produse plenty of steam

  • @BlakeMason2 That is not a draft attachment, but a bear trap spark arrestor stack for the dry mountains and sparks from the fire

  • That sure looks fun! What an interesting customized smoke stack with steam-powered draught attachment.
