A few clips of engineer Reid Sipe behind MiniAcres RR #5, a wood-burning 2.5" scale 7.5" gauge live steam locomotive. This was taken in Apex, NC on April 24, 2009.
@BlakeMason2 That is a "Ridgway Spark Arrestor", devised at the Ridgway Shops of the Colorado & Southern RR in, well, Ridgway, Colorado, back in the late 1800's
It catches and collects the cinders before they can wander off and start a fire. The angled portion is a wire mesh, and the tube coming down the back side of the stack is where the captured cinders collect .
A very nice layout and a formidable roundhouse at the end. Thumbs up! :)

@BlakeMason2 That is not a draft attachment, but a bear trap spark arrestor stack for the dry mountains and sparks from the fire

That sure looks fun! What an interesting customized smoke stack with steam-powered draught attachment.
