Sam Mangwana's first year with Franco, Lola Chécain's eighth. Here they were singing together as if they'd done nothing else all their lives. Personally, I think Sam never sounded better than when he was backed by Chécain. Lola also does percussion and animations, especially during Franco's solo.

Also with Simaro, Decca, Dessoin, Ntoya.

The b-side of this single was Où Est le Sérieux?:

  • @koyoko2003 Koyoko, I have the first one and also Balenge, but recently I do not seem to have the time to make them into video and upload to YT. But I will as soon as I have some spare time....

  • Thanks a lot for those great men of Africa. Please could anyone upload the following if possible: Geography Matsanga, Pamelo(Diatho Lukoki), Balenge(Tp ok); Ndayalunga Nakasika(Tp ok jazz). These were great hits and would love to listen to these online.

  • Merci bcp pour la clarification. Pour moi que le titre soit; MANINGO ou bien NGANDA MA CAMPAGNE cela revient a la meme chose c.a.d j'adore la chanson. Le titre ne reflete tjrs pas le contenu. I am just enjoying the music and the title was just a way of sharing my limited knowledge of Afrikan and Kongolese's Music. I am glad that a lot of us replied. Thanks to God of our ancestors for Lola checain and his songs, music, voice and contribution in OK JAZZ.

  • Hello guys? Are we working under the misapprehension here that titles on cd's are always "right"? What is "right"? Listen to my posting entitled: "Franco & L'O.K. Jazz - Bolingo Marie Angèle (Lola Chécain) & short autobio Chécain". The composer calls it Nganda Ma Campagne himself. Nuff said.

  • You are right - I have it on Cd and that is the title

  • Great song written by Lola with the unique voice of Sam Mangwana, the guitar of Franco with his voice as well but not improvised this time. For some unknown reason I was led to believe that this was titled Maningo. May someone help, to clarify please eee

  • Yes, great stuff. TPOK Jazz survivors do concerts, but not all together anymore. Many of them are in Kekele (UK based), but others are all over. Malage Lugendo was singing for some time in New jersey with Lokassa and other Soukouss stars. Bana OK too...
