@stale27 That is a somewhat naive way of looking at it. The "one country" will have not even the illusion of rights most people in the US take for granted. A bunch of criminal, unjust souls are not going to come together and create a Utopia for you to live in. That, and many of them want to see over half the worlds population die. That will mean half the people in your neighborhood, too.

@zentonil I don't put much faith in History. It is written by the the most recent victors. Up and until recently, we were taught that navtive americans were blood thirsty savages... Teaching the public this made it easier to steal their land and kill them.. We must be careful what we blindly accept to be true.

Alexander the Great was a megalomaniac who thought he was the reincarnation of Hercules and that his purpose was to unite the planet. The British Empire developed the first concentration camps in the Boer war. They forced China to import opium so they didn't have to trade silver.

Empires are an abomination. Read about the "Congo Free State."

@zentonil I don't know if Ghengis Khan was a humanitarian or not. Our history is not a clear lense.

I think it would be great if no one had to be in charge and may be it is possible. At the very least the control of government over the individual should be small, but that leads to corporate monopolistic powers taking over the government. Mankind is up a creek.

So what if they are trying to create a world empire. So did Alexander the Great, Ghengis Khan, Great Britian, Spain, the Dutch and on and on. Would you rather have rogue states with nuclear weapons. Someone has to be in charge. As far as population reduction goes, I am sure some of them are nazi like, but more are good hearted people. Do you think Jimmy Carter wants Genocide?
