* Chair: Hasung Jang, Dean, Business School, Korea University, Korea
* Speaker:
- Kulwant Singh, Vice-Dean, Business School, National University of Singapore, Singapore
- Zhiwen Yin, Associate Dean, School of Management, Fudan University, China
* Description :

In todays rapidly changing knowledge-based economy, it is vital for higher education institutions to respond efficiently and adequately to the changing demands of the times. This is especially true for Masters of Business

Administration programs, which need to continuously stay a step ahead of the changing environment in order to remain competitive. Higher education institutions play key roles both in training manpower and in creating new knowledge, and

the competitiveness of higher education directly influences the competitiveness of a nation.

In order to obtain and maintain the leading position, higher education institutions are competing against each other at both national and transnational levels. Each higher education institution tries to recruit more competent students

and professors, raise more funds and produce high quality research results. As a means of enhancing competitiveness, many higher education institutions are forming close working relationships with each other or with other actors like

firms and research institutes. 'Coopetition' (cooperation + competition) has become a new trend in the higher education market. All countries are trying to implement more efficient and effective strategies for reinforcing the

competitiveness of higher education.
