Thank You for posting this vid! My initials are M.R.Lee (way cool). My Mom and Dad were dating when this song was released in '57-'58 and his name was Robert (Bob). It is a series of events that made this song one of my mom's favorites but, mine also. At my place of work, when I have the chance to deal with the office staff, they sing this tune. I get gushy and red faced, but I love it. It is a fabulous R&B song that will always hold treasured memories. Again, Thank You. M.R.Lee
This group was great when they first recorded, and they are just as great now! They deserve to be in the rock and roll hall of fame, but they are too talented, and it seems they would outshine most of the inductees!
I was in junior high when this came out. Your mom is correct....man-o-man this little tune was MASSIVE! I remember the kids screaming when the song's energetic introduction leapt out of the jukebox and straight into our hearts. There would always be some kids in the crowd who loved the 1-2-3 HEY! part and would scream along with it. Their zeal was a cute source of amusement for us little kids circa 1957-1958. Now if only I didn't throw away my felt circle skirt and crinolines. Let's dance!
