its not a matter of complicit allies, these are dominated semi-autonomous satellites of US power in the region. any nation's corrupt leaders that wants to give up independence and have its people brutally subjected to poverty and corruption can do this. they will get the term "moderate" and be shielded by the US propaganda and diplomatic support.
