A plurtastic look back at rave flyer design in Toronto, originally broadcast on MuchMusic in 2001. Introduced by a svelte, young George Stroumboulopoulos and shot by videographer Larissa Gulka, the clip features all-stars from Vancouver-based Prototype Design and some other flyer designers. Peace!

  • sniff sniff had a whole 10x 14 wall filed at one point in life that was before 99 and it was only parties I went to ho- humm I so miss that wall - never let your parents paint the house while you take off for the weekend to party

  • man, it would be so awesome if the new music came back...

  • lol wow 2001, thats when I was right in the rave scene

    vancouver though.

  • ZOMG Mickey Fabulous! Haven't heard that voice in 8 years.

  • haha... ok... not about the flyers, but the videographer, Larissa Gulka, she used to be my 5th grade teacher when I was in Japan... haha... imagine her, with her spunky blonde, thick eyeliner, pure black clothed, tatooed self taking year book pictures with a bunch of nuns!

  • Make's me want to head up to my dads and have a look at the old shoe box of flyers! le sigh,....where did the good times go?

  • what a great vid

  • that made me so happy. I saw the USC 4 flier and I was happy.

    Rave on Ravers!

  • did he change his face?

  • I have kept a quite of the flyers that were shown there among many others. The Freakin one was one of my faves and inspired me to paint the skull from it. That was also my first experience scanning and using photoshop. I recognized some the UK flyers too from collecting digital versions to archive early Prodigy gigs. This was a great segment by the New Music that I had never seen before. Thanks for posting. LOL at the PLUR tag too.
