This clip starts with WTVJ's station ID,touting Channel 4 as having South Florida's "largest daily circulation," which meant it was number one sign on to sign off. Number one for nearly his entire 36 year run, newsman Ralph Renick was an icon in television news. Renick's last newscast for WTVJ was in March, 1985. He died in June of 1991. I thought it mightve been like that scene from "The Shining" where it showed Scatmann Crothers in Miami lying in bed watching the local news. Does anyone have any info where that piece is from...remember?

I also have a Panasonic player that can record to DVD-RAM. Mine is a DMR-ES10. It's very convenient for recording from another device. The VRO file on the disc can just renamed MPEG and be played with any media software. I've uploaded a number of videos recorded on the player via DVD-RAM.

Cuts off right before Bob Mayer goes on; I would have liked to have seen that part since Mayer is still on the air down here.

There are several old Bob Mayer clips, including one where Renick throws to Mayer for the station's first live-shot. Copy and paste this:
