Shadow of the LittleBigColossus

Over the weekend, students from NYC's Parsons School worked for twenty four hours continuously with LittleBigPlanet. Their challenge? To create a level from scratch using early copies of the PS3-exclusive. With little or no background in the game, the students were able to create a wide assortment of hugely innovative and different levels.

The judges were thoroughly amazed by all the finalists on display at Parsons last night. Getting their hands on "Shadow of the LittleBigColossus" left them absolutely awe-struck. Not only was the concept of the level truly outstanding, but the execution was spot-on. Yes, a little more playtesting could be done to make it not as challenging, but to know that such a massive moving level was created in the time of just 24 hours is an incredible achievement.

Congrats to Team Sportsmanship on winning the Best of Jam and claiming the $1000 prize.

Because he failed to acknowledge that back in the 90s, platformers weren't nearly as awesome as LittleBigPlanet.

However, there is *some* truth in what floppylobster said, I'll give him that much.

Otherwise I would go so far as to say that LittleBigPlanet almost deserves its own genre.

That's just how awesome it is @_@

amazing, the capabilities, people are already making awesome levels just playing the beta, but imagine once the game releases, millions of people and tons of great people like this will be able to make completely amazing videos, its sad that i most likely wont be able to partake in the beta but i'm much more stoked about the full games release, its gonna be an awesome gaming experience, i can't wait to see what God of War levels will be made,or anything, the capabilities are endless

Where's the underwater level? This is impressive, creative and looks beautiful, but at its heart it's just a platformer. And I had enough of those in the 90s. Perhaps they'll make a comeback for a new generation?
