Somewhere in my house I have a VHS tape my family recorded in Christmas 2005 when the BBC tribute series about Dave Allen was on, and it has tons more material than is on YouTube! I must find it and convert it for everyone who loves this brilliant man!

"And he sees that Adam is happy..." - huge pause, audience eating from the palm of his hand and immediate;y get the joke that's coming! CLASSIC Dave Allen, sadly missed. I sneakily used to watch him on the black & white portable telly, as my mother would have had a fit!
However! She watched him as well (on the colour tv mind!) it turned out, and laughed along with the rest of us!
"He's talking to a woman, for God's sake!" - just brilliant!!!!

I watched this guy for the first time in the seventies, and laughed my head off. His body language is absolutely marvelous, like John Cleese. I admire Dave Allen intensly. Most of his humor is timeless, many of his scetches are also great but he is at his best with a glass of whisky and a cigarette in his hand. Also, watch how he is dressed, immaculately. not like the trash todays TV personalities put on them. Dave Allen hade style in abundance, style and humour sharp as a wip. RIP Dave Allen

Sad to have lost him. There are so few entertainers left today that can entertain without offending the audience. He was one of those that made everybody laugh.
