  • hope he and stevie are jammin together when I get to hell with them ;)

  • Only thing I can say is AWESOME !

  • "Good stuff Maynard!"

  • @alefender91 he uses mixolydian passages but it's based on blues typical progression

  • it's in D, he works on pentatonic with few more!! this is his greatness!! incredible

  • anybody knows what key is this solo in?

    Or what mode? Mixolydian? Lidian?

  • @Limekiln71 Yeah, Tony Mcalpine is a beast. You should also check out Jeff Loomis if you haven't already. When I first heard his song Miles Of Machines, I was literally speechless. He's more heavy metal oriented, but Miles Of Machines is very neo-classical sounding. Definitely check it out. You, sir, have good taste in music!

  • @buriedinsmoke3 I totally agree with you about Jeff, he was one of a kind. Since you are a fellow guitar player I wonder if you are familiar with the work of another great player named Tony Mcalpine?

  • @buriedinsmoke3 I agree about Jeff being top 5 all time, he was one of a kind. Speaking of great mostly unsung guitarists, check out Tony Mcalpine. peace

  • @Limekiln71 Hell, I've been playing for 7 years now, and the minute I heard/saw this guy play on youtube, I immediately wanted to step up my game. I was recently stuck in a rut with my playing, but once I heard Jeff Healey, I broke out of it quick. This man inspires me on so many levels and not just with his guitar playing. He's seriously overlooked and deserves to be in the top 5 of all time.
