Children before profit, perhaps.
But spaces before politics.
Thanks to Jack Layton, we're at least five years away from getting what we had two years ago.
The very actions of Stephen Harper, which the speakers in this video lament, were made possible by Jack Layton's own decision. A seat for his spouse was more important to him than spaces for thousands of Canadian parents. Thanks Jack. Thanks Olivia. Thank you NDP.

We need to learn from the Australian commercial model of child care and all of the failures of this model...
Public policy for early learning and care needs to be influenced by research...which supports the not-for-profit model. Children before profit...
It is finally time for public child care...and certainly the government should be taking action to protect the quality of child care from commercial operators who are trying to access pubic funds to boost their profits.
