Nobody plays Etta Baker's "One Dime Blues" like Etta Baker - the rest of us mere mortals can only do our best, which is what I've done here. I've used the structure and riffs from her playing to create a little tribute to a great lady and a wonderful Piedmont blues guitarist.

The blues is in E and I've followed the loose structure of the piece - some choruses are around 8 bars, some are slightly less and some go way over. It's just the way you feel it. I've kept the harmonies and riffs from Etta's playing for most of the time - just played them my way...

Simple music, tabs & chords to follow...

  • Hi Will, very nice performance as usual. I bought my XC1T (left handed) about a month ago and like it very much. I only plugged it into an amp yesterday and was surprised at how good it sounds.

  • Well done - glad you like the XC1T. Whenever I play it in public - like last night - someone always comments on its fantastic sound. :-)

  • Great playing! Is that a custom Martin? The logo sort of looks familiar, but it sure doesn't look like any model I've seen. The wood on the headstock looks gorgeous.

  • It's a Martin XC1T limited edition - not an expensive guitar, made from composite materials - but has a wonderful sound both acoustically and electrically. :-)
