Frank Trumbauer & His Orch., voc. Art Jarrett - Georgia On My Mind, Brunswick 1931
--------------------------------

I withdrew my previous uploading of this song, to give way to this tribute of Frank Trumbauer's... I believe, he wouldn't have anything against devoting that wonderful tune - composed for SOME Georgia, for ANY Georgia, who knows, who she-GEORGIA actually was?) to that old, clever country, now invaded by Vladimid Putin's army and his planes.

Congratulations, Mr Putin, son of a Soviet corporal, who collaborated with nazis during WW2. Also, a KGB officer, responsible for executing those of East Gearmans, who dared - after the mounting of a wall across Berlin and the whole of Germany - to go over it and run away from the Stalinist "paradise" on earth, which you were so devotedly a part of.

Now you, and your slaves, are invading Georgia - country of the ancient culture, much much older than your post-bolshevik "culture" of that Soviet empire, you, as a hooligan from the suburbs of St. Petersburg - have alvways been a devoted servant of. You are invading the old and noble Georgia - not only because of your inferiority complex, but also - or beyond of all - for the sake of your greediness. Oil! Oil! Russia needs money for the casinos in Monte Carlo, for the yachts in Cannes - to show to the world the suitcasec full of dollars in the diamond stores of Antwerp, in the brothel houses of Amsterdam. Congratulations! Now your stupidity, as well as your ;ittle slave's heart - the same as the one who's been ruling Russia for centuries - are openig the gates of your dark master, gates to the hell.

  • Ossetia always was independent kingdom, check history books

  • sorry but to cite the invasion of poland in 1939 is an invalid point for two reasons one the soviet union could hardly be considered russia since its ruling elite comprised so many different ethnicities and second stalin orchestrated the attack and he was georgian.

  • piece of shit russians

  • @HarborGuy Here is my advice to you: before even 'defending' anyone here, learn to spell the names correctly.. it's not Seetia, but so-called South Ossetia, which is properly called Samachablo (as it has always been, for centuries). S. Ossetia always was and remains part of Georgia. It was not until the Soviet occupation of Georgia that the autonomy was granted to it, before it was just one of the regions of Georgia (that's all). Stop spreading lies.

  • @Askanio987 Stalin after taking away the territories of Georgia like Sochi and parts of what is today Northern Armenia, set out to give autonomies to three regions in Georgia: Acharia, Abkhazia and S. Ossetia. Hence, the problem with the last two regions today. If not for the Soviet occupation (and the Russian Empire before) there would not have been any problem whatsoever.

  • @Askanio987 I checked all the history books I possibly could and it says everywhere that so-called S. Ossetia or Samachablo (to be more correct) was and remains part of Georgia. They also said that the first Ossetians who settled in Georgia in the fifth century were graciously welcomed by Georgians and they actually did not settle down in Samachablo, they were all over.. So, now you check history books, ok?

  • @epiphanyofreason8 Stalin repeatedly said that he was grateful to the Russians for raising him. His ethnicity does not mean anything, he was Russian and the Soviet elite was Russian too. Soviet Russia invaded 14 other countries and not vice-versa. Today's Russia is a sole heir of the Soviet Union and it continues its criminal actions.

  • Hoagy Carmichael wrote this song to honor his sister named Georgia. There is no reason to use this fine song for political purposes.

  • Now that must be the great Bix on muted coronet ... yes? One of his last recordings, no doubt. He died in 1931. Never made 30, like Jimi.

  • How about a free and independent Chechnya, Ingustia, etc.?

  • Then how come huge majorities of Russians say Stalin was a great leader to this day? How come most try to deny that the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact started WWII? You can't have it both ways, but it's classic Russian mentality to try and do so.
