Train Kept a Rollin',
I Can't Quit You Baby,
Dazed and Confused,
White Summer / Black Mountainside,
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You,
You Shook Me,
How Many More Times,
Whole Lotta Love.

A rare double-bill featuring Led Zeppelin and the Who - the only time this would occur. The encore featured another early appearance of Whole Lotta Love.

This is only the encore for the show and all that exists from the show. It also happens to be the second time ever (see April 26th, 1969 for the first) time Whole Lotta Love was played live. A very different version that is excellent, with a long guitar solo in the middle and great vocals from Robert. A very interesting comment about that evening comes from one of the Who's crew: "I had the unenviable task of throwing Zeppelin off the stage," recalled Jeff Wolff. "They were playing over time, stringin' it out, and there was a curfew, so I was saying, "I've got to get you off!" I had to pull the plug on them, otherwise we were never going to go on!" (The quote comes from the book written by Andy Neill and Mark Kent titled "Anyway Anyhow Anywhere - The Complete Chronicle of The Who 1958-1978". Many thanks to the authors for sharing these memories.)

The fences were knocked down by eager fans. people were sitting on the speaker, and on the rafters. It was an unbeliebable show, one I tell my children about. Fabulous.

  • beautiful video. You outdid yourself!

The music sounds familiar and quite lovely.

Thanks so much for posting this.

Love the art, but the music is a bit distracting.

  • Thank you for sharing !! I was there that evening with a couple of friends (juniors in high school at the time),...one of the most unbelievable and memorable performances ever !! The crowd went nuts !! Thanks again.

  • Two years ago! and the crap I got for my comments, haahhha!

Actually, coming around. Music sounds quite pleasant.....

  • @Mquiezt

sorry you did not appreciate poor attempt at humour.

  • The day that the Who recieved the proof that they could never be the best musical group in the world as long as Led Zeppelin was around. I cant imagine how they could go on after this.

  • To francescaemc2 - "Love the art, but the music is distracting" - the whole point of this posting IS the music, not the poster advertising the concert. How clueless are you? What a jack___s.

  • Almost forgot, the Who were fantastic as well ! What an incredible evening/life event May 25, 1969, turned out to be. Led Zeppelin I just came out a few months before this concert, the buzz about Zeppelin leading up to this night was electrifying to say the least.
