Hi Bellybeard ,rust etc. looks good for the hollywood market and the general publics perseptions of what vikings should look like. True warriors know their lives are dependant on the upkeep of their weapons & armour. Ask any active serviceman, the vikingr were no different and did not dress like thralls in the fields. This is not Pathfinder!

Of course vikings used helms, all the ones used in this video are copies of viking helms found . but yes swords we're more rare and the bulk of a dark age army would comprise of spears and hand tools like axes and seaxs. However in this video we are portraying a very well off succesful warband.

they did actually use helms, probably why there have been ancient viking helms found in burial grounds, albeit rarely. but yes swords were fairly uncommon among vikings, they usually used spears and axes, as they were much cheaper to make, less metal was used in those weapons than a nearly purely metal sword.

And they very rarely used swords, as they were luxury items and heirlooms.

wow lol I dunno how I could possibly spell that bad I must have been ttly tripping lol anyway its true that vikings lived in a time where being ttly clean isn't really easy .. but in that time they were amongst the people that cared most about the way they presented what they wore and how they looked .. it doesn't mean they looked like fags it just means they coordinated their rough looks , if you want fucking dirty ass evil caveman look for saxons haha
