(The original "Spy Hunter" is owned by Midway.)

One of the more popular arcade classics to combine two different genres of gameplay is Spy Hunter; not only did it provide another way to look at driving games, but it also gave the action genre a new playing field. Episode number eight of "Coin-Op Classics" is here!

MUSIC:
Peter Gunn remix/Main Menu- Spy Hunter (2001)

REFERENCES:
"Double Dumbass On You"- Star Trek IV
"Ahahahahahaha, SHUT UP!"- Billy Madison

  • The screen shot you show when you mention the Commodore 64 version is definitely not the C64 version. I don't know what platform it actually is though.

  • Oops.

  • "I would go to the Stop and Go and play Spy Hunter and buy a Marvel Comic book back in the day! All that fun for just $1.10!"

  • @mackat4ck You got the original Shockwave arcade collection to run? I would love to know how you got that. I played all those games thousands of times when I was littler.

  • From the arcade cabinet, to the console versions, to pinball, then to The Rock????

    What the crap?

  • Took me ages to find the original version of this. Mame crashed after after certain point with this and I found a shockwave version. Unfortunately ArcadeEmulator2 is no longer supported by shockwave so I had to download the previous version of shockwave (version 10). And you know what? IT WAS WORTH IT!!! :)

  • Best review I've ever seen of this classic. It's one of my favorite games. I spent many, many quarters in it when I was a kid. This one hamburger joint had it and I went there more for Spy Hunter than I did for the food. I had all the top scores on that machine too.

  • i just got this arcade
