The preserved water pump operated by a triple expansion steam engine that is located in South West London and which supplied London's water for 57 years. It's now run at monthly intervals
This is the pump, it was very dim, and I'm pleased that it's come out as well as it has. The engine had three pumps which ensured a uniform action on the water (very necessary, the pipe to the reservoir was 12 miles long!)
This vid was in one of the noisiest places, we are right under the cylinders and in the pump area, upstairs in the main area the noise is less noticeable.
