All turtles lay eggs on land.
Females are particular about where they lay and bury their eggs and may travel long distances over land to find a suitable location.
Some turtle eggs hatch in late summer or early fall.
Others remain in the egg or nest all winter and emerge in the spring.

  • The Red Eared Slider didn't lay the eggs in the end of the video. That's a different kind of baby turtle. And also no they don't take care of any babies. They just lay them and go.

  • i raised 4 turtles. There were 9 but 5 passed away. The reason we hatched them is because the mom turtle died shortly after. The 5 that "died" were duds so i guess it was ok. The 4 Turtles r now huge and awesome! we let them go after 5 weeeks
