I need a new camera that can take stills and record video. This one seems good.

What do you think about the manual focus on this camera, or is it just autofocus?

i can't say anything about the manual focus, i haven't used it except to try it out and understand how to use it. this video was done with autofocus in 'spot' mode.

Only con is that the microphone has bad quality sound recording. If you want the extra upgrade, by an FZ35, it has stereo.

have you tried using the wvga (848x480) movie mode? I wonder how it compares to 720p on Youtube.

Is this camera better than the Nikon90 ( I think that is the name ) I am also concerned about battery life. My old sony had the worst ! It was very hard to deal with for myself. The pictures are gorgeous with this camera. I am a novest and want a user friendly to take nature shots with.

The problem is that you need to load the video from the start after you press the HD button. If you start to load the film even if it's only at 00:01 seconds, it will lag.

You really, really need to start the loading back from the beginning after pressing the HD button. Or just add the &fmt=22 at the end of the video URL.

The fact is that this cam has mono audio..so it´s not the best for recording bands...but still it has a clear sound and of course an outstanding video quality...Great cam...just amazing! 10 mark cam!
