At the beginning of 1-3, after jump on the pole. As the pole starts to send you upwards, hold left so that you'll drop straight back down on top of the pole. Once you land on it, you'll bounce off of it repeatedly, earning a 1UP each time. After earning the maximum 10 1UPs, jump to the next available pond/pole and repeat the process to get more lives. The max amount of live allowed is 255.
That's basically the gist of the 1-Up Pole trick which helped me get through the dreaded cave levels.

How far can you get in Kid Kool? You should do a series of videos on the rest of the levels in this weird game.

I beat this game once on a rainy boring day and actually enjoyed it. It took me probably six hours and it was hard. I might try that out sometime. Thanks man.

Thanks dude. Good luck with the rest of the quest because I still remember how tough this game was. You might want to exploit the pole-vault bounce "1-Up" glitch. I always find that helps. And if you're using a ROM, save-states also help. :)
BTW, what's your favorite level? My is the Level 4 desert. My least favorites is the boring tunnel (Level 3) and the unoriginal cloud stage (Level 5). Level 2 was a pain in the butt with all those wind jars but it had the catchiest, most upbeat music.

I never knew about the glitch. It's funny cause I thought the cloud stage was fun. Probably because it was the easier for me then the caves.
