Again, beautiful. At the end, you can see how upset David was...this song clearly meant a lot to him, and he did a great job.

Paula might have been a little crazy back then (not to me, really, but to other people I can see why I guess), but you have to love her because of how much she actually sees/invests herself in what these contestants do. She didn't care about the jacket or (non existent) pompousness; she saw how much the song meant to David and how he wanted to portray it. She really, really cares, and I think that's so rare in showbusiness. And about David: LOVE this song. Great choice. :)

I think the only reason his performance was panned was because Raine Maida's voice simply cannot be recreated at all.

The first 10 seconds worried me then it turned in to a pretty good cover. I don't watch American Idol but whenever someone actually covers a song written by an artist or group with actual talent they get my respect.

I still think that the top 3 for the season should be Carly Smithson, Michael Johns and David Cook.
And I think this was the best American Season ever...
