Florida Chamber Testifies: Improving Florida's Education System and Rewarding Our Teachers

The Legislature is considering—and will be voting on--many education initiatives in this year's Legislative Session. Our elected representatives from both sides of the aisle have said they support ways that we can improve Floridas education system as well as ways to recognize and reward our most treasured asset: our teachers. Good luck recruiting teachers to Fl! This is the worst thing for our future! Paying a teacher 50% of their salary based on a test score on one day is ridiculous! I am a teacher and I see my students 50 min/day 5 days/ wk. And that's IF they are present or not tardy to my class everyday. I have NO control over their lives after 2:45 each day. Thrasher should be ashamed of himself. Guess he never had a teacher that had a positive impact on his life. Very sad!
