The actual poem is adapted from an Anglo-Saxon poem called the wanderer. It was a battle lament. "Where the giver of treasure, where the horse and rider, where the seat at feasts, alas maille clad warrior, alas bright cup, alas proud prince they are gone under nights helm as if they had not been" for more information watch a great drama called '1066 battle for middle earth' using us extras and those for Norman and viking armies it shows the events that caused englands death. great video!
