  • simply great performance!!!EITHER BACH FLOWS OR IT BLOWS!!!You hit it like it should!respect....

  • the allemande isn't played faster!

it's a slow german dance ... if you refer to the williams interpretations than you're totally wrong ... he played the allemande way to fast and he is no referance for it!

  • Although there is no "exact" speed for the Allemande, it is generally a "slow" piece. The "extreme" example of slow play for an allemande is from the 6th Cello Suite. It is a very "peaceful" lyrical piece. Not something to dazzle people obsessed with speed.

  • You play very well, this is the best version on youtube, some people complained about the tempo but its the correct Tempo 100-116 quavers and your around 108 right in the middle

  • very nicely done for the most part, perfect w a little more practice. i disagree w any ass hole who says this is too slow. the Allemande section is supposed to be slow... it contrasts with the speed of the preceding Presto section of the lute suite. i think this is a very fair interpretation of the piece. great work, keep it up.

  • I have the Koonce edition for this.I´m not really good at reading music though. What puzzles me is f.e in bar 14 the sixteenths are pared with eights and fourths at the same time.

  • Thank you for posting your videos here, you play very well.

  • Its not a difficult piece except for a few small passages. Those occur in any piece of music which causes problems for only for the real inept and those that are bad practicers.

The tempo is ok here, I would agree that it does need to be fractionally faster by about 5-7bpm... however I don't credit you with the ability to differentiate small differences like this and assume you just want to blast your way through a piece asap and trip up continuously throughout with no interpretation....

  • thats because u play for an year that u dont understand that things dont have to be played fast! he plays as he wants! maybe this guy was still learning the song and made a video of him practicing.

  • I don't know why people are giving you thumbs down, your comments is interesting.

About the interpretation: Even if the interpretation it's up to the player; the Allemande is usually played faster.
