  • The painting doesn´t fit. Corelli lived many decades before Fragonard. But anyway, it fits with the scenery.

  • @KarlMartell732 I rarely pair paintings and music that are contemporary of each other, at least conciously.

  • Purcell quartet is a fantastic interpreter of baroque music, this version of Corelli's Chaccone is lovely. I just wonder why they don't play the ritornello!

  • @simogaia92 the ritornello is not in all historical editions of Op. 2.

  • This piece is incredible. So filled with passion and true excellence.

  • @HARMONICO101 Pardon me, but the internet was not in existence during Corelli's time. Please remove this video and perform the piece live as per the custom of the period.

  • I love this music.

  • @KarlMartell732 How can a picture change the way you see the composer? I must think @dolofonos nailed his comment on this topic rather spot on, haha

  • @HerrWarja

I hear Mozart when looking at this picture. But it wasn´t meant that serious ;). Generally, chamber music was undoubtedly the dominant type of art in the 18th century, whereas in the 17th century it was painting.

  • @KarlMartell732 Corelli's music didn't die because he did. His music lived long threw out the baroque are, and to our days. This painting is as fitting as a modern photography of a beautiful sunset.

  • Thank you Beautiful

  • This is 2 violins, cello and harpsichord right?

  • @KarlMartell732 It's you. You're the Fragonard.

  • I always get back to this piece, incredibly beautiful. Couldn´t decide whether Bach or Corelli touches me more. Maybe it depends on the mood.

  • It it just beautiful, but It piece in this recording is not in G major It is in F major. But It does not matter, it is awesome.
