hi! nice tank! plz tell me wht did u use for substrate ( sand, potting soi;, kitty litter) also when algae prob come wht do u do? plz respond i need ur help! thnks

@starthi i use ADA amazonia soil as the bottom layer. on top, it's just regular gravel. just keep in mind that the thicker the soil the better. it means that there's a place of space for good bacteria to breed. therefore, a lot of the excess nutrients would be used by the bacteria and your plants, instead of algae :) generally algae is caused by too much phosphate in your water, make sure you do 10 to 25% water once a week and make sure you used RODI water. Once a month, vacuum your gravel!

he's a hi fin lyretail fish, he's a pretty boy :) and yeah, they love the plants! there are a lot of places for them to hide in the bushes lol!

thanks! the neon green plant on the front right would be Micranthemoides (baby tears) and i am not sure which algae eater you are talking about, the ones that are swimming around are the siamese algae eaters, and the ones that stick on the glass are the oto cats.
