I wanted to hone my skills in merging CG with real footage so I made this test animation. Animation was created using 3ds max and Zbrush for modelling. Rendered with Vray, Camera tracked ,matchmoved and composited in Nuke. Enjoy!

  • how did you make the alien look like it was behind the coffee table? Wouldn't the animation layer cover the video layer? I've always wondered how that was done.

  • @CoDisafishy The process of getting the Alien around the coffee table can be done by masking in after effects or by matte planes in 3DS Max. I used Max as it is easier to create a couple of planes to mask the CG during render time with video projection as background. Its just too much to explain the whole process on here.. thanks for watching.. :)

  • very cool!
