Kepwari Wetland Walk Trail. A five minute drive from town brings you to Lake Wheatfield, the start of a 3.6km one way interpretative trail, designed to be a learning experience. The trail winds through fringing sedge-lands, heathlands, under Banksia canopies and over dune ridges with views of the wetland system and surrounding catchment. A return trip along the trail will take about two and a half hours to walk. Shorter sections can be walked instead of the entire trail. The Wetland Trail consists of 1.5km of raised timber boardwalks, and 2.1km of surfaced trail. Two bird hides located along the trail provide an opportunity to quietly observe waterbirds in a tranquil environment.
