UPDATE: EA has finally relinquished their claim on this video.

This is an examination of the mindset behind sophomoric decisions.

The issues surrounding ME3 are so numerous that many were not mentioned in this video. I used less than a quarter of the footage I've gathered. I may upload some more of it in the future.

ME1 has the best story, plot and villain, ME2 has NO PLOT, the Collectors are the worst villain, but the characters are beyond awesome. ME3 has Tuchanka and Rannoch...and then bleeeeah :(((

Oh, and Colin Moriarty. Ignorant, arrogant, hipster douche. IGN is the biggest joke of all of the so called "gaming journalists". Bought and paid for, isn't that right Chobot?

I just liked Bastion because it was a fun game. Plus, it's nice to see colorful and interesting visuals instead of the usual dull, brown/grey corridors and chest-high-walls. I don't think it was quite so necessary to be so cruel to that game in this vid, being that it wasn't trying to be something that it wasn't like ME3 was. It was just telling a story and providing some nice-looking environments to kill stuff in. To me, that's a good game. So what if the press tried to make it a scapegoat?

It's interesting that these large companies forget about the artistic ability of the customers themselves. They want to tell their customers what is 'Art', rather than allow the customers to share and extend to the company their own creative ideas. Bioware failed to allow the customers creativity. This is their biggest failure.

My views exactly, not everything in any medium is art. I do, however, believe in artistic integrity for game development teams, but only if they can prove that they have a vision. Bioware undermined itself with the ending of Mass Effect 3. They didn't originally have that ending in mind, but it was "too difficult" to do what they wanted. So, they gave up.

Some films can be artistic, some can be for pure entertainment. The same goes for film, books, and even music. I don't think every game should be defended as art, but we should also reward artful games like we do for other media.

Because while every single one will deny it to the death, they are usually getting money from the sides they are on.

It's funny that no matter what you chose in Mass Effect 3 you will still get the same basic ending.

But Bioshock: Infinite did the same thing and pulled it off perfectly. Because it was intentional, because it added to the narrative and theme.

you were originally trying to appeal to.

    In depth story telling?

    Well written characters?

    Quality romances?

    Exploration?

Fuck that noise! What this series needs is sex appeal, GOW style combat, and mind numbing linearity!

EA: Who's a good company? YOU ARE!!

    (throws fidoware a bone).

Bioware has successfully hung itself with barbwire.

It's corpse is just too dumb to realize that it's dead.
