Late night on April 23, activists converged on the IMF-owned Concordia hotel for a game of "IMF Soccer" featuring things like unfair goals, partially blocked on one side or double goalies.
The lead banners of the march in were converted to functional soccer goals-and the next two and a half hours featured a noisy late-night scene outside a hotel packed with IMF and World Bank meeting delegates.
The soccer game finally devolved into a flurry of police attacks, police violence, and late night chases through the streets of DC. Nine arrests reported, at least one was a felony-but which was dropped the next day as a bad arrest, along with many others.
