Stolen lands, stolen children and stolen waters: Australia's poor governance of the River Murrundi (Murray), lower lakes and Kurangk (Coorong) over the last two centuries has impacted severely on the 40 First Nations along the waterways.

'This is the privatization of the Murray Darling River where private owners and brokers, who oversee annual transactions of $1.68 billion, have more say over these depleted supplies than governments.' (Maude Barlow, senior advisor on water to the president of the United Nations general assembly.

This collection of images shows what's happened to Ngarrindjeri Ruwe (pronounced roo-wee): living lands and waters of the Ngarrindjeri Nation.

Thanks to Ngarrindjeri singer-songer writer Rita Lindsay for permission to use 'IL Wulde Tjular' (OnEagles Wings) from cd Connecting Spirits and title-page artwork.

Thanks also to a collective of SA musicians Tom Drahos , Judith Kelly, Georgia Kelly-Bakker and Faolan Sidler for 'Code.'
