I'm actually not SURE of the name of this song but i THINK it is "Deeper than the Holler" (someone please correct me if i am wrong!)

Sorry it's so shaky in the beginning.

  • Thanks for posting this song! I was wondering when I heard this the other day if it was Randy or not, and sure enough, it is. =)

  • @xoheartableox no problem! i love Randy Travis and thought it was so cool that he did this free show at this church. I'm not religious at all but i just went for the music! i remember he sang "I Told you So" that night as well and i really wished i had been able to capture that on video but i think by then my camera had died......

  • whats the instrament played in the beginning ??

  • Randy Travis is the best Country and Gospel Singer ever. I hope that he continues to do what he does and that he may do gods work in the future as long as he does in the past.

  • Spoiled by stupid sexist joke at the beginning

  • @camochick1992: and to be more specific, i think steve might play pedal steel, which is a lap steel that has pedals that work like the tremolo bar on a guitar.

  • @camochick1992: from what i've seen of randy travis live (lots of it), and the sound, i think you're talking about steve stinson's part (bwa bwa bwa bwa bwaaaaa bwaaaaaa, bwa bwa bwaaaaaa lol)

it's a lap steel guitar. basically a small piece of wood with guitar strings but no frets and played with a slide.

  • @camochick1992 It is probably a dobro. Not sure about the spelling but typical in country songs. has a diferrent sound. they sometimes call them a steel guitar.

  • I sang this song a long time ago back in gradeschool...Randy Travis I have always loved you.....Love you always....<3 KYL

  • Well he's got 5 instruments on the stage, 2 acoustic guitars, 1 bass guitar, 1 violin, and a set of drums.

I think the beginning has a combination of the guitar and the violin.

  • i disagree 1982 is the one that put him on the map.
