RagnaRock Together

Together was originally written for the band RagnaRock (founded in 1983), The band is consisting of special learners. The song was originally about making a better world,- with lyrics in Norwegian language.

World Federation of Music Therapy asked for an English version for their web-site. The band was very excited about the enquiry! We have therefore worked hard for months on this project in our studio at our adult training centre, Aasen in Oslo.

The problem was to teach the band members the English text. Our fine soloists, who sing wonderful in Norwegian language, had problems to sing the whole text in English. We ended up with the solution Heidi, one of the leaders, took the main part of the solo. But we worked with every member in the band in order to be able to sing the chorus all together: You and I there is something we can do now! - You and we can make a better world!

The instrumental part is solidly done by our band members: Kenneth alone is brilliantly playing the drums and all percussion. Gunn Elisabeth is doing all the synthesizers. Rune and Lars Cato is playing the rhythm guitars. Birger is on mouthorgan and our master vocalist Hans Robert is doing the vocal in connection with the total band singing the chorus. Per, our guest guitar soloist is playing the final guitar improvisations and ends the song on the dominant, as if he wants to indicate that there should be a continium (something to come) after this song.
The leaders Heidi (guitar/song), Bjørn (guitar/bass) and Tom (piano) are grateful to have the lucky privilege to take part in this flourishing music community.
