A thunderstorm on 2 wheels was the forecast for the Red Bull Road Rage. Right on start time dark clouds showed up over the Gurnigel indeed and it began to rain heavily. Nevertheless 4 athletes raced down the mountain pass at once road cyclists against downhill mountain bikers. After 4 KO-rounds Guillaume Gualandi (FRA) was the 1. to come out of the water again. Unofficial sources say that speeds up to 100 km/h were reached during the training sessions on a dry track. The official timekeeper then measured 71.32 as top speed in the pouring rain on a tuned mountain bike!
