Brian shows how a "gravity drop" from the end of the backswing, can assist some golfers who have over-acceleration problems. From Brian Manzella, PGA, G.S.E.D. BrianManzella.com/forum
Thank you, thank you, thank you. After watching your video i thought i would put it to the test. Feel so effortless, yet this has helped me with my timing and rhythm, which is resulting in not only a better contact with the ball but also more distance. Cheers
Brian - thanks. This way of thinking of the swing has totally short circuited my concept of golf. I tried it at the range today and I am actually taking divots after the ball for the first time in my golf life (30+ years). Plus, the ball was going as far, or further, with less effort.
Question: Does the club type (e.g. 7-iron vs. driver) change the plane of the drop?
Grrreat!!!! Once again, I feel like I'm myself teaching a beginner. I tell my students to feel their arms and shoulders go dead when they reach the 9 o'clock position with the club parallel to both the ground and their toe line, while their turn their back hip to the target.
David Lee of Gravity Golf is the leading researcher and teacher of this type of golf swing used by guys like Fred Couples. Check it out. It works.
