ll-ACC First Team ... Allen, a Tampa (Fla.) native and a former transfer from Louisville, ranked second in the ACC and 18th nationally in rushing (101.2 ypg). He had five 100-yard rushing games in 2010 and rushed for more than 160 yards in each of the final two games of the regular season. Allen had 1,934 rushing yards in his two-year Georgia Tech career and, including his two seasons at Louisville, rushed for 3,036 career yards. Big, thick frame with powerful lower body. Strong initial burst through the line, maintaining low center of gravity and secure cradle. Powerful back who keeps his legs moving and displays great balance on contact. Able to maintain his footing when spun around by defenders, even if it means running backward or sideways to continue forward progress. Keeps his weight forward to generate downhill momentum. Never fumbled in four college seasons. Primarily a power back, but flashes adequate cutback and change of direction ability in the open field for his size. With representatives from 15 teams, RB Anthony Allen helped his stock at Georgia Tech's pro day on Wednesday. Taken through a workout by Rams RB coach Sylvester Croom, Allen looked good catching the ball and should end up being a late-round pick. The event took place indoors, on a fast surface. Here are some other notables: Allen (6-1, 222) had 40-yard times of 4.59 and 4.65 seconds. He stood his other numbers from the combine.
