I would take all my bills and file from the beginning of the treatment and go see another ortho and report theses people to the ortho association of your state or place of stay. Stories like yours need to be reported to an association and maybe you have a case to sue them! Looks like they took major advantage of you. The machine that beeps and tell you if you have a cavity also beeps when you have a deep tooth that needs to be watched in case a cavity developps. Hope you are doing better!!

my god your dentist sounds like a money grabbing bastard! I'm getting mine on Saturday, was supposed to get them last week but I started new job Monday so didn't want to have to deal with new braces meeting so many new people. Anyhow my dentist is so great, he has signed a contact with me for €4200 about $5600 which is going to include EVERYTHING that needs to be done to my teeth over the next year! I've been warned that the dentist you choose will dictate your entire experience so be warned!

I want braces but here in england they don't advise braces unless you got a 4mm gap! They sound like right arseholes! $1000!!! Sheesh.
